RSS
a word you might have heard many a times but the exact working and how
it functions have been a mystery for the any one short of required
technical skills, here I shall explain about RSS in plain English
language. RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication”.RSS is used as
many people are interested in a number of websites whose content
changes on an no particular frequency. Such websites are like news
sites, community organization information pages, product information
pages, medical websites, and weblogs. Repeatedly checking each website
to see if there is any new content can be very tedious and Email
notification of changes in websites is a problem too as notifications
from multiple websites they are usually disorganized and can get
overwhelming, and are often mistaken for spam by most of standard mail
box. This is how RSS helps. The Video below fully explains how RSS can
be works and can be used in plain English.
All important data you want people to see is put as notifications,
this list of notifications is called an “RSS Feed”. People who are
interested in finding out the latest headlines or changes can check
this list for the latest information. Computer programs called “RSS
aggregators” are used that automatically access the RSS feeds of
websites you want on your behalf and organize the results for you. (RSS
feeds and aggregators are also sometimes called “RSS Channels” and “RSS
Readers”.)
Now a days RSS features are embedded with Blogger.com and
wordpress.com , also to read RSS theer are many services now available
like Newsgator, Google Reader etc one can also use the
Social Bookmark feature present in some browsers like Mozilla Firefox.
As mentioned above, the next Windows will have RSS embedded into its
operating system which currently in Beta mode of testing and due to
released by fall of 2011 as per the official blog of Steve Ballmer.
